The building blocks that let AI understand your website
1. A table of contents for AI: llms.txt
Think of it like a table of contents at the start of a book — except it's not meant for readers, but for AI models. This text file tells the AI: "Here are my most important pages, here's my location, here are my main services." That way the AI doesn't have to guess but immediately finds the most relevant information.
2. The digital business card: AGENTS.md
A file with your company's authoritative facts — address, founding year, management, main services, common questions with reliable answers. When the AI is unsure, it looks here. That prevents models from using outdated information from old directories.
3. Machine-readable profiles: JSON-LD schemas
Invisible data blocks directly in your website's source code — you don't see them, but search engines and AI models read them instantly. They contain your address, opening hours, common questions and main services in a format every machine understands. It's like a digital ID card for your company.
4. Quick-read versions: Markdown twins
Plain-text versions of your most important pages — without images, design or promotional elements. AI models can read these about ten times faster than your normal website with all the trimmings. For human visitors nothing changes; they still see your beautiful, complete website.
5. Citation-ready short answers: answer nuggets
On your main pages we place compact 40–60-word summaries that answer exactly what users ask in AI chats. These paragraphs are written so an AI can adopt and cite them verbatim. That's the difference between "the AI vaguely knows you exist" and "the AI names you specifically as the answer".
6. The bouncer list: updated robots.txt
This file decides which bots are allowed onto your website at all. Many websites accidentally block exactly the AI bots whose attention they need. We deliberately open the door for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GeminiBot and others — while still keeping out anything that doesn't belong.
Visibility check: before & after audit
Before we start, we test your company against 50 typical search queries in 4 AI models (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini). You see it in black and white: where are you named? Where not? Who gets recommended instead? Four weeks after handover we repeat the test — the before-and-after comparison is your concrete proof of impact.
